ACRENOC, Associação Comunitária de Recuperação Novo Caminho, is a nonprofit organization that supports people recovering from chemical dependency and helps them return to social and professional life.

12 Passos was created as an interdisciplinary project for the Social Communication course at UNIS-MG. The book presents the experience of people inside the institution through interviews, narrated reports, and photography, with the printed edition donated to ACRENOC and an ebook version planned for open access through the institution's website.
